Introduction:
In this exciting DIY project, we’ll guide you through the process of turning old newspapers into a charming flower basket cycle. This eco-friendly and artistic endeavor is a great way to repurpose materials while adding a unique touch to your living space.

Materials Required:

  • Waste newspapers
  • Glue or adhesive
  • Scissors
  • Acrylic paints, Glitter paints, Cotton lesses (for making basket)
  • Paintbrushes, waste water bottle cap (for headlight)
  • Cardboard or still wires (for additional support)
  • Colourful chart papers (for making flowers)

Step 1: Prepare the Base

Take a few sheets of newspaper and still wires. Make tubes of newspaper sheet to form the base, use still wires inside the tubes to make it strong, and roll them tightly into tubes to form the cycle base. Use glue to secure the ends of the tubes. Create many larger tubes for the wheels and a smaller one for the frame.

Step 2: Construct the Wheels

Flatten some newspaper tube straws, connect their ends with glue, and joined them in the circle to form the wheel. Make two wheels.

Step 3: Attach Wheels to Frame

Glue the larger wheel tubes to each end of the smaller frame tube to create the bicycle structure. Attach the wheels to the ends of the wheel tubes. Ensure they are securely attached and allow the cycle to stand on its own.

Step 4: Create the Basket

Roll newspaper sheets into thinner tubes to form a circle, and attach 8 lesess at the back of the circle. Weave the tubes with lesses together to create the basket shape, securing the intersections with glue.

Step 5: Attach Basket to the Cycle

Use glue to attach the basket to the frame of the bicycle.

Step 6: Painting

If you’d like, you can paint the entire bicycle using acrylic paints and glitter colours. This step is purely for decoration and customization.

Step 7: Chart paper flowers

Cut chart papers in round shapes and roll them to form the flowers and secure it with glue. If you want to add more stability, you can attach the bicycle to a piece of cardboard as a base.

Step 8: Headlight

Use a waste water bottle cap for making headlight of the cycle. Paint the cap with acrylic colour and add glitter at the surface of the headlight. Attach headlight at the handle of the cycle.

Voila! You’ve just created a stunning flower basket cycle from waste newspaper. This project not only promotes sustainability but also unleashes your creativity.
